It entails the process of helping someone come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior and then helping them to grow in Christ to become a mature disciple. As we grow in God’s love, we come to realize that He made us for a purpose and gave us distinct spiritual gifts that He tells us in 1 Peter 4:10 to use to serve one another. Therefore as one matures it is natural to utilize the spiritual gifts God has given them to honor and glorify His name.

The next step is to do what Christ commanded in John 20:21. “As the Father has sent me, so send I you.” He came proclaiming the good news and making disciples. Our ultimate goal as fully devoted followers of Christ is (to follow His footsteps) making disciples. This process of mentoring and multiplying is what Christ did while on Earth. We are on a mission to become like Christ; and our goal through discipleship is to help people grow and find their place in ministry.
