Media & Communications Specialist
Availability: ASAP (Accepting Applications)
Manages internal and external church communications through traditional, electronic, and emerging media, as follows:
Gather, verify, edit and post information that appears on the church website, video monitors, and means of advertisement.
Work in collaboration with the Pastor to oversee and coordinate official public statements and news releases to media outlets.
Work with CTK staff to coordinate in-house media vehicles and printed promotional materials and video production as a means of communicating and story-telling.
Responsible for the oversight and coordination of live-streaming of church worship services and special events (e.g., Boxcast, Tune-In Radio) in collaboration with the Audio/Visual Ministry.
Support each ministry in developing ministry communication systems and materials, including creating promotional materials in all print and electronic forms approved by the Ministry Director.
Promptly retrieve, forward, and report information posted on websites related to inquiries, prayer requests, registration, online giving (e.g., Givelify), membership data, etc.
Manage electronic notification of emergency closings and exceptions to the regular church schedule.
Coordinate media content to ensure accuracy and appropriateness for the needs of the target audience(s).
Assist staff with weekly administrative needs as it pertains to the worship services.
Develop and manage a system for maintaining a digital media (e.g., video, photography, digital audio, etc.) archive of special/annual church events, communicating/coordinating with the media team to ensure coverage of all major events on the church calendar.
Design print media content for use in the church’s various ministries, such as brochures, graphics, slide backgrounds, etc.
Improve and manage the church's social media presence through regular messages, sermon excerpts, quotes, video clips, and photos.
Continuously strive to be a creative and collaborative individual to maintain CTK communication systems and oversee social media, digital marketing, website, and church app.
Oversee external contracts related to designers, printers, and other vendors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must demonstrate creativity, excellent written/oral communication skills, and model clear and honest communication.
Must have strong computer skills/aptitude to grasp and implement new concepts and possess computer literacy with Windows (PC) and Macintosh (Mac) computers.
Must be familiar with the use of current media and emerging technologies (e.g., radio, TV, print, web (to include working knowledge of uploading audio and video files to the internet), social media, etc.).
Demonstrate aptitude when using graphic design production technologies (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, production copiers like Konica Minolta BizHub series, etc.).
Must possess effective problem identification, analysis, and solving skills.
Must have the ability to work with diverse personalities and interests as a team member.
When required, must have availability and willingness to work outside of regular business hours concerning church events, meetings, and worship services.
Must work independently and conduct oneself in a professional and Christian manner.
