MARILYNN MCVICKER

Marilynn McVicker

Motivated by her deep love for Christ, Marilynn McVicker has served in ministry continuously since the inception of Christ The King Baptist Church where she served as the Director of Youth Services.  Marilynn also organized King’s Academy Christian School, and is the former administrator.  Marilynn’s educational accomplishments are as follows:  Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Education Degree from Cardinal Stritch University.  She is the wife of the founding pastor, Reverend John W. McVicker, Sr.

Marilynn believes that one should serve in any position “as unto the Lord.”  She has served at Christ The King in many capacities in the past 24 years:  Sunday school teacher, choir director of the Inspirational, Cherub and Gospel Choirs, and a member of the Praise Team.  The Marilynn McVicker Scholarship Fund was named in her honor because of her passion and love for children and their future success.

Since Marilynn’s primary goal is to fulfill God’s purpose in her life, she makes an effort to be educated in the Word of God.  Thus, she attends Bible classes, Christian education classes, and Leadership Development conferences at Christ the King Church. She has also attended the Southern Baptist Black Church Leadership in New Mexico.  She received Unit Certificates in the areas of Christian Education and Counseling from Tony Evans’ Urban Alternative in Dallas, Texas.

Marilynn is motivated to share God’s work of love, knowing that God showed his love for us by sending His Son, Jesus.
