About the event

Christ the King Baptist Church is excited to collaborate with a Financial Workshop Facilitator to offer “Secure the Bag: Financial Skills for Life” — a 6-week workshop series tailored for high school students in grades 9–12.

This dynamic and practical series aims to provide young people with real-world financial skills to aid them in making smart money choices now and in the future. Guided by a Financial Workshop Facilitator, each interactive workshop will address crucial topics such as saving, budgeting, building credit, and understanding student loans.

Participants will gain knowledge on how to:

Set realistic short-term and long-term financial goals

Create and manage a personal budget

Begin building strong credit early

Navigate banking basics and avoid common financial scams

Understand the impact of student loans and how to prepare for them

Each one-hour workshop will take place on-site at Christ the King Baptist Church, offering a safe, familiar environment for teens to learn and grow.
